Christian Singles Fellowship

I no longer call you servants . . but friends (John 15:15)

Welcome to the Christian Singles Fellowship Website!

About Us . . .

Christian Singles Fellowship provides support and friendship for single Christians centred around group holidays in the UK. These holidays take place throughout the year in a variety of attractive locations and are specifically designed to provide fun, fellowship and relaxation in a Christian context for single Christians.

Not all single Christians are actively seeking a  marriage partner! At Christian Singles Fellowship, being single is recognized and valued. At the same time, we know of many Christian couples who have met for the first time on such holidays. It is hoped that our holidays provide a safe, friendly and relaxed atmosphere in which single Christians can meet up with old friends and make new ones.

Each of our holidays provides a variety of activities, catering for a wide range of interests - both secular and spiritual - including:

Walks and full-day and half-day visits to local places of interest and other outings
Dances, fun and games
Bible studies and worship
Guest Speakers
Music, Art and Calligraphy Workshops

We can cater for a wide range of ages, and also for guests with special requirements such as difficulties with mobility or particular dietary needs. Please contact us to let us know your requirements, or mention them on the Booking Form.

The emphasis on our holidays is on fun and fellowship. All activities are optional but at the same time we hope you will relax in the friendly atmosphere of our holidays and will want to join in!

Most of our venues offer a choice of accommodation styles with as many single rooms and en-suite rooms as possible.

About our Holidays . . .

We have some really exciting holidays coming up starting with our Easter Break at the Wycliffe Centre. Please click on the "Future Holidays" button at the bottom of the page for more details.

News From Bryan Conway, our Honorary President

Our CSF President, Bryan Conway, is involved with mission Work in India with an organisation called Bethany Ministries. This excellent work provides medical care for people in outlying villages, and the team consists of doctors, pastors and other workers. The Gospel is preached in these villages at well as being outworked practically through the medical help that is being given.

Latest News from Bryan!

Bryan has just returned safely from his mission trip to India with Bethany Ministries. Here is his report!!

INDIA MISSION TRIP - JANUARY 2012.

Before reading any of this report, it is necessary to remind ourselves that all thanks and glory go to God Himself and no other. Any fruit from the 8 day period in south central India, whether seen or unseen, is His alone. Successes are not about any one person's work - only about what the Lord does!

Bryan was once again met at Hyderabad airport by the same team of Indian GP doctors who are Christian evangelists, as on the previous occasion. The ministry followed the same pattern as last time in that free medical camps were conducted, followed by the presentation of the Gospel afterwards. Bryan spoke for about 9 hours in total - 18 with translation. Altogether over the period, Bryan and the doctors - headed by Dr. Faithful, founder of the ministry - were involved in 6 long meetings involving much speaking and praying, at various venues up to 2 hours away from Kurnool. This town has a population of 400,000 and is the size of Worcester city in area.

The first meeting was an all day Pastors gathering at Dr Faithful's church. Around 200 turned up having travelled from all directions. Many were fed, (Spiritually and in the flesh), prayed for and encouraged. It was a privilige to minister with these servants of God and many film interviews were conducted afterwards.

The only meeting in Kurnool itself was intimidating in that the Gospel was given in a Muslim/Hindu environment one evening. Many of the husbands would not allow their wives to go forward afterwards and Bryan was taken away from the scene by car, at the first opportunity. Many people took literature in their own language however and the message was heard from houses around as the team's amplification system is pretty loud!

There were no such problems elsewhere as all the other meetings were in churches. One venue was a return visit to the same Christian community village as last time. - the village of the singing children with their smiling faces. Another was a late night date at a remote place somewhere and to a dimly lit church full of people. (Could hardly see!). This was followed on the Sunday morning with a 4 hour service at a place in the hot 32 degree sun. After speaking, Bryan ended up actually baptizing eleven people outside by full immersion, a complete suprise as the local Pastor only gave him 30 minutes notice of this.

Once again, Bryan is  very grateful for the prayers of so many. All of them were answered in abundance. He was kept safe, and in good health throughout.

The way forward now, is to trail through the hours of DVD footage filming which two of the doctors nephews kindly undertook. Much sorting and editing will need doing. Maybe some content will go to a Christian TV company. For domestic church presentations however, the idea is to produce a 20-25 minute edited DVD presentation. A website is being constructed and this will be www.bethanyministries.net   Additionally, the doctors themselves were enormously grateful for the lap top gift from Cookhill Baptist Church in central England, (no more scribbling down on bits of paper, the ministry information which needs recording!!). TO GOD BE THE GLORY, GREAT THINGS HE WILL DO!

 - Bryan

John Grint's Work with Street Children in Tanzania

(John's latest report (7th Jan 2012) has just arrived! Click on "Members' News"!)

[Me+14-07-2009.jpg]  Our Summer issue of CSF News featured the work that CSF Member John Grint is involved with amongst the street children of Kigamboni, Tanzania. This article has generated much interest, and John has very kindly agreed for our website to link in with the website of KSC, the UK-based organisation which is in partnership with the Kigamboni Community Centre, Tanzania, the group that  John works with when he goes out to Africa. In fact, John is nearing completion of a 3 month tour of duty in Tanzania, and our very best wishes and prayers go with him in this important and tremendously worthwhile work. John is very kindly including CSF in his reports from Tanzania, and the first three can be found by clicking on the "Members' News" button at the bottom of this page.

A Message from John: 6th Dec. '11

Mambo all at CSF,

I would like to thank all the people who donated money to help these unfortunate children in Tanzania. I have thanked the people who I have email addresses for but there are some who I could not reach, a big thank you to you. Kigamboni Community Centre (KCC) now have sewing classes for the children, so I bought the material and KCC can make their own uniforms, which should be cheaper and hopefully better. I will of course send pictures to the CSF website of the children in their uniforms when finished.

Thanks again John.

A New date for the Diary!

Our Annual General Meeting will take place on March 31st 2012 (please note change of date - not March 17th as previously announced!) at St. John's Methodist Church, Victoria Rd., Horwich, near Bolton. We hope it will be a really good time of fellowship and fun, and we hope as many members, guests and friends as possible will come along. All are welcome, (although only members are allowed to vote.) We start with a local walk at 3pm (please let Brenda know by the 24th if you are planning to come on the walk!), the meal is at 5pm and the AGM starts around 6.45pm followed by a social.  The cost of the meal will be £4, and will need to be booked in advance (preferably by 24th March). If coming by train, it's probably best to go to Bolton Station (the station at Trinity St.) and from there catch the 517 bus. There's a bus stop right outside St. John's Church (and the conductor will be able to let you know when you have arrived!) For members and guests wishing to stay overnight, there is a Travelodge (the Beehive) also on the bus route, and Brenda, as a "local", will be able to let you know more about this! Please contact Brenda T-C (01204 669764) or myself (stewartfleming@tiscali.co.uk) for more details. (SF)
